Our Prayer

From the Principal

Dear parents, carers and community members,
As we enter our final weeks of the school year, we are enjoying the celebrations planned for many of the classes in our school. Please keep an eye on PAM for the information and permissions needed for each of these. We are also planning some school-based activities to congratulate and thank the students for such a great year.
School Disco

The SRC are planning an afternoon 'disco' for Friday December 9th. They will set up the big room at break and then the disco will run from 2:15 until 3pm. The theme is 'Aussie Christmas'. It will also be a casual clothes day, so students can wear their disco outfits to school if they wish. As we don't need to raise funds, there will be no cost and no food sold. There will be music, dance offs, best dressed and spot dancing prizes. SRC
Canteen

The canteen will remain open until the 13th December. There will be no canteen this Wednesday 7th of December so please ensure your child has their lunch with them from home on that day.
Parents Association AGM
Our Annual General Meeting for the Parents Association was held last week and we have a new executive elected for 2023.
President - Bronagh Bonner
Vice President - Ruth Barber
Secretary - Belinda Doolan
Treasurer - Tania Lafferty
We thank these people for their committment to the school and the time and energy they give to our parents association. Please support them by attending our P&F meetings next year.
Staffing for 2023

We are delighted to announce the appointment of two new staff members to St Patrick's School for the beginning of the 2023 school year. We welcome Jeannie Cook as a classroom teacher and Matthew Harkin as our Physical Education specialist and classroom teacher. We hope they experience the acceptance and welcome that our school has become known for over the years.
Move Up Day

Tomorrow is our "Move Up" day on Tuesday 6th of December. On this day, our new foundation students will have their first full day of school and the students have prepared a welcome display in the front garden.
Each class will move to their 2023 groups and our Grade 6 children will attend their new secondary school. Class lists and teacher allocation will be sent out to families this afternoon.

Grade 3/4 Excursion Werribee Zoo

Today the Grade 3/4 children are finally on their excursion to the Werribee Zoo. We hope they have a day of fun and learning with their classmates and return to us safely at 5:30pm this afternoon.

Grade 6 Graduation

Our Grade 6 Graduation ceremony will be held at St Patrick's Church on Wednesday the 14th of December at 6pm. There is limited seating at the church and families of Grade 6 students have been invited to apply for 4 adult tickets per family. If you are a parent of a Grade 6 student and are yet to request tickets, please click on the link below to do so.
Foundation Excursion

Our Foundation classes will be heading off on their excursion to Port Campbell and Timboon on Tuesday the 13th of December. Please keep an eye on PAM for a note and permission form for this activity.
Grade 6 Excursion

Our Grade 6 students will be heading off on their excursion to Port Campbell on Thursday the 15th of December. Please keep an eye on PAM for a note and permission form for this activity.
School Frontage
With the removal of some trees and emptying of garden beds, there is an opportunity to design an improved facade at the front of the school. The area shown below is like a blank canvas for us to make our entrance more distinct and more attractive. If you have any wonderful ideas for this area, please contact me to share these.

Catholic School Culture
Closing School Mass

The Closing School Mass for St Pat’s will be held on Friday 16th of December at 11:30am at St Patrick’s Church in Camperdown. This is also the last day of school for students for 2022.
Third Week of Advent
This week is the third week of advent where we focus on the theme of joy in spiritual preparation before Christmas. It reminds us of the joyful celebration that the world experienced at the birth of baby Jesus. We prepare our hearts and feel the light shining into dark places in our lives as we experience the presence of joy and hope. We light two purple candles and one rose pink candle on our advent wreath.
