Our Prayer

From the Principal

Dear parents, carers and community members,
Planning for 2023 is well underway and some important decisions have been made in regards to classroom structures, staffing and student grouping. These will be put in place for our "Move up day" next Tuesday to see how the school will look at the beginning of the year. Thank you to our staff and parents for your input with this important task.
School Disco

The SRC are planning an afternoon 'disco' for Friday December 9th. They will set up the big room at break and then the disco will run from 2:15 until 3pm. The theme is 'Aussie Christmas'. It will also be a casual clothes day, so students can wear their disco outfits to school if they wish. As we don't need to raise funds, there will be no cost and no food sold. There will be music, dance offs, best dressed and spot dancing prizes. SRC
Canteen

The canteen will remain open until our last day, which is Friday the 16th December. There will be no canteen on Wednesday 7th of December so please ensure your child has their lunch with them from home on that day.
Parents Association AGM

Our Annual General Meeting for the Parents Association is to be held tomorrow night, the 30th November at 5.30pm in the library.
Grade 3/4 Excursion Werribee Zoo

On Monday the 5th December 2022 the Grade 3/4 excursion will take place to Werribee. To tie in with our SOSE unit for Terms 3 and 4, the children will be going to the Werribee Zoo, which is an open range zoo. The children will get the opportunity to participate in an education session run by the zoo and also take a safari bus trip in the park to observe the animals in an open habitat.
Grade 3 Camp
Our Grade 3 students had a wonderful time at Cooriemungle last week for their camp. The weather was very kind after wet days either side. Thank you to Kellie Lee and the rest of the staff for their planning, energy and care to make this a special event in the students' school year.

Grade 2 Excursion
Our Grade 2 students had a great day at Yeodene last Friday. They spent the day exploring the ziplines and high rope challenges. This was followed by some time in the Colac botanical gardens and the playground. Thanks to Fran Bateman and the staff for organising such a fun and exciting experience.

School Frontage
With the removal of some trees and emptying of garden beds, there is an opportunity to design an improved facade at the front of the school. The area shown below is like a blank canvas for us to make our entrance more distinct and more attractive. If you have any wonderful ideas for this area, please contact me to share these.

Move Up Day

Our next transition opportunity will be our "Move Up" day on Tuesday 6th of December. On this day, our new foundation students will visit. Each class will move to their 2023 groups and our Grade 6 children will attend their new secondary school.
Catholic School Culture

Social Justice – Vinnies Christmas Appeal
The Vinnies 2022 Christmas Appeal gives hope to struggling families this Christmas. Friday Mass
This week classes FSC & 3/4C will attend mass on Friday with Fr. Neville at 9:30am where children will read the readings and the prayers.
Closing School Mass

The Closing School Mass for St Pat’s will be held on Friday 16th of December at 11:30am at St Patrick’s Church in Camperdown. This is also the last day of school for students for 2022.
Second Sunday of Advent
This week is the second week of Advent where we light the first two candles on our Advent wreath and focus on hope. We prepare to seek forgiveness and reflect on our calling to live as children of God. We hope to change our ways so that we are good examples of people who love and follow the Lord. Let us seek peace in our minds and in our world.

Interschool Dressage and Showjumping

Tyra competed at her last interschool competition for St Patrick's on the weekend over at Moyne Park Equestrian Centre. This gained her a qualification to compete at the Vic Championships next year. Tyra rode in the combined training section on both horses which is dressage and showjumping. She won the dressage and then had a clear round and no time faults for her to win overall and came second on her pony.
