Our Prayer This Week

From the Principal

Dear parents, carers and community members,
Our sessions with Greg Clement last week were very productive as he validated the changes we have made to our Literacy structure and made recommendations for further growth in this area. On Friday we had the opportunity to plan for the end of this year and the beginning of 2023.
Farewell Paul

It is with great gratitude and great sadness that we announce Paul Kingston's retirement at the end of the 2022 school year. Paul has been a highly valued member of the St Patrick's school community for many years now and will be greatly missed. Paul has planned long service leave at the end of this year, commencing on Monday 5th of December so he has just 5 weeks left here with us.
Congratulations Janet Cain

Congratulations to Janet on her appointment to Pricipal of St Colman's Mortlake. Janet is a past staff member of St Patrick's School, where she worked for over 25 years. We wish Janet the very best in her new role.

Catholic School Culture

Mission Month
October is Mission Month where we raise money to make a difference to the lives of vulnerable children in poverty around the world. The Mission boxes are in classrooms ready for collection, so please consider sending any loose change into school for the Missions. Our loose change can make a world of difference. Many thanks.
Friday Mass
There will be no Friday masses over the coming weeks. Friday masses will resume in November.
All Saints Day

Tuesday is All Saints Day, dedicated to the Saints of the Church, that is all those who have attained heaven. Although millions, or even billions of people may already be Saints, All Saints Day observances tend to focus on known saints - that is those recognised in the Canon of Saints by the Catholic Church.
Dear God,
They left their mark on the earth for you, for us, for our children to come. Thank you God, for the tremendous sacrifices made by those who have gone before us. Bless the memories of your saints, God. May we learn how to walk wisely from their examples of faith, dedication, worship, and love.
Amen.
All Souls Day
All Souls Day on Wednesday is the commemoration of all the faithful departed and is dedicated to those who have died and perhaps not yet reached heaven. We remember deceased friends and relatives in various ways on this day. Some people may light candles or visit a church or cemetery to pray for the holy souls in purgatory.
