Our Prayer This Week

From the Principal

Dear parents, carers and community members,
We have arrived, at last, to the week of our performances. We are loving the joy and excitement on the faces of the children as they prepare for the shows and hope that all our families enjoy the talents and work ethic of the staff and students to get this event off the ground.
Production Update

Costumes
Dress rehearsal is happening today which gave parents the last opportunity to ensure that any costume items needed from home are here at school for each of the planned shows.
Tickets
Ticket allocation is going well and we remind you that this is your last opportunity to access your 4 family tickets for tomorrow's matinee. All preschool children will not need a seated ticket as they can sit on a lap. St Patrick's students in the performance will not need a ticket.
Production dates
Tuesday 11th of October at 12pm
Tuesday 11th of October at 7pm
Wednesday 12th of October at 7pm
After the show
Just a reminder that all students need to return to school after each show to remove their costumes and collect their things. Parents can pick up the Foundation students after 7:30pm and older children after 8:30pm from their classrooms. Teachers must record each child’s exit. Students may not be taken directly from the church.

Postponed
Grade 3/4 Excursion will take place to Werribee this Friday. To tie in with our SOSE unit for Terms 3 and 4, the children will be going to the Werribee Zoo, which is an open range zoo. The children will get the opportunity to participate in an education session run by zoo staff and also take a safari bus trip in the park to observe the animals in an open habitat. We will use the knowledge gained from this experience to complete the remainder of our SOSE unit.
- Children will need to bring their snack, lunch and drink on the day.
- Children will wear their PE uniform on the day.
- As the program is an all-weather program children, will also need to bring a hat and a raincoat that is clearly labelled with their name.
- Children will not have the opportunity to spend money on the day and we ask that no money is sent with children.
Pomborneit Cricket Clinic

Last year we had organised a cricket clinic for all our girls from Grade 2 to Grade 6 through the Pomborneit Cricket Club but were unable to conduct the day due to covid restrictions at the time. This day has been rescheduled to this Wednesday the 12th of October and is fully funded by a grant that the club received. It is a busy time with the final production on that night but we have decided to persist with the day to give the students the opportunity to try something different.
Timetable

Arrival at Pomborneit Rec Reserve: 11:00 am

Each participant will also receive a show bag, piece of fruit and a bottle of water at the conclusion of the session. All the girls will need to be in their school sport uniform for the day.
Junior Swimming Program

At St Patrick's we highly value the brief exposure to swimming and water safety that we can provide to supplement the opportunities each family gives their children. With challenges in closing companies and limited facilities in our district, we are commencing the Junior swimming program next week through the Cobden Swimming Pool. We will have an intensive program for 3 classrooms beginning Thursday the 13th of October and the second half of the children will begin on Thursday 20th of October.
