Our Prayer

From the Principal

Dear parents, carers and community members,
We are in the midst of two very busy final weeks of Term 2. We have a shortened week this week with the Queen's Birthday public holiday and a short week next week with our student free day next Friday the 24th of July. The staff are doing an amazing job coping with our current teacher shortage and have worked very hard to ensure that quality opportunities are still being made available to the children. Thank you to the parents for your understanding and flexibility when this impacts on appointments and meetings at school.
Parent/Teacher Interviews

Our format for these meetings this year is quite different. In the past we have had learning conversations with the children in attendance to celebrate their work and set goals for the future. This year, just our parents will meet with the classroom teacher to discuss each student's progress. Please take the opportunity to log in on PAM to nominate a time and your preferred format to meet with your child's teacher to discuss their learning. Parents can select a face to face meeting or a virtual meeting on the appropriate date below.
Parent Teacher Interviews will be held as follows:
- Foundation - Grade 2 Tuesday 21st June
- Grade 3/4 Wednesday 22nd June
- Grade 5/6 Thursday 23rd June
Open Day

St Patrick's will conduct an open day for prospective families of new students on Wednesday the 15th of June from 9:30am to 12:30pm. Classrooms will be open and our senior students will guide guests through the school to view the learning that takes place on a normal school day. We look forward to the opportunity to showcase the wonderful opportunities our students enjoy at St Patrick's.

Enrolments Open
We have opened our enrolments for the 2023 school year. New and existing families are invited to obtain an enrolment form from the school office or kindergartens to indicate your intention to send your children to St Patrick's next year.
School Performance
Classes continue preparations for our school production later in the year. Kristy McKenzie will work with the second half of the students and the teachers on the dances they are to learn over the next two terms. The children are loving the opportunity to express their creative sides.

Winter Sports
Congratulations to the four St Patrick's teams who played in the Division Winter Sports in Warrnambool last Friday. Our netball, mixed netball, soccer and football teams competed with great spirit and skill in very trying weather conditions on the day. Congratulations to the girl's netball team who have qualified to compete in Ballarat this Friday in the Greater Western Region Winter Sports.
The netballers were far too busy winning to take photos

SAC Meeting

We will be holding our School Advisory Council meeting that was tonight, next Tuesday the 21st of June.
Do you have spare football boots?
From Ned Molan & Lenny Stephens:
We are students at Mercy Regional College in Camperdown Victoria and we are doing a school project where we are collecting people's old footy boots that no longer fit or they don't want anymore.
And we are sending them off to indigenous communities that aren't as privileged as us.
And we were wondering if you could send us a few pairs of boots to help us out.
Please send clean boots into the St Pat's office and we will pass onto the boys, thank you
Catholic School Culture

Friday Liturgy
On Friday all junior students will attend a liturgy at St Patrick’s Church at 9:30am. This will be their first visit to the church for the term and a lovely way to come together.

Mini Vinnies - Winter Appeal
On Friday, the Mini Vinnies volunteers received visitors from the St. Vincent de Paul Centre in Camperdown. Andrew and Maureen shared their insights on volunteering and explained how the Winter Appeal donations will be used and distributed to help keep people warm this winter. These collections will still continue until the end of term and the St. Vincent de Paul Centre volunteers were grateful for the donations from our school community. Thank you to all families who have washed and sent in items for the Mini Vinnies volunteers to collect for the Winter Appeal.

First Holy Eucharist
The First Holy Eucharist preparation program has now begun at school and at home. Candidates will make their sacrament on either Saturday 16th of July at 6:30pm in Cobden or Sunday 17th of July at 11am in Camperdown. Please pray for the following children as they continue with their preparations; Tom Atkins, Emma Bonner, Maisie Cunningham, Rhys Darcy, Bailey Fox, Jed Gaut, Etti Glennen, Alex Huggins, Luca Macchiesi May, Cooper Mahony, Mali Maskell, Bryce Miller, Edie Molan, Tristan O’Connor, Beau Ponting, Wally Rees, Caitlin Rundle, Elaine Ryan, Abigail Sinnott, Harry Sinnott, Darby Sinnott, Vince Titmus, Taj Woodmason, Evie Wagner, Flynn Wagner, Clancey Wagner, Sydney Wagner and Clem Walsh.

Student Free Day and Staff P.D.
There will be a Student Free Day on the last day of term, Friday 24th of June. Staff will be involved in a Professional Development Day on the Catholic Education topic of Scripture. This day will be presented by Liz Dowling, a highly regarded academic teacher in this subject.
MERCY REGIONAL COLLEGE - 2023 ENROLMENTS
