Our Prayer

From the Principal

Dear parents, carers and community members,
Winter is really upon us now and the cold has settled in. We ask parents to ensure that their children are dressed appropriately for the conditions as we try and have students outside as much as possible in their break times.
Open Day

St Patrick's will conduct an open day for prospective families of new students on Wednesday the 15th of June from 9:30am to 12:30pm. Classrooms will be open and our senior students will guide guests through the school to view the learning that takes place on a normal school day. We look forward to the opportunity to showcase the wonderful opportunities our students enjoy at St Patrick's.
Enrolments Open
We are opening our enrolments for the 2023 school year this week. New and existing families are invited to obtain an enrolment form from the school office or kindergartens to indicate your intention to send your children to St Patrick's next year.
School Performance
Today classes began preparations for our school production later in the year. Kristy McKenzie has begun to work with the students and the teachers on the dances they are to learn over the next two terms. The children are loving the opportunity to express their creative sides.

Personal Items

After several cases of lost or damaged personal items that children have brought from home, we remind parents that toys and sports equipment should not to be brought to school to avoid this.
Parents and Friends

We are postponing the Parents and Friends meeting this week to next term, closer to our next fundraising event. This date will be publicised prior to the event.
Winter Sports
Congratulations to the four St Patrick's teams who have qualified for the Division Winter Sports in Warrnambool this Friday the 10th of June. Our netball, mixed netball, soccer and football teams all won their events in our District competition last week and the students are looking forward to competing at the next level.

Do you have spare football boots?
From Ned Molan & Lenny Stephens:
We are students at Mercy Regional College in Camperdown Victoria and we are doing a school project where we are collecting people's old footy boots that no longer fit or they don't want anymore.
And we are sending them off to indigenous communities that aren't as privileged as us.
And we were wondering if you could send us a few pairs of boots to help us out.
Please send clean boots into the St Pat's office and we will pass onto the boys, thank you
Parent/Teacher Interviews

Parent Teacher Interviews are available now to book on PAM. Please take the opportunity to nominate a time and your preferred format to meet with your child's teacher to discuss their learning. Parents can select a face to face meeting or a virtual meeting on the appropriate date below.
Parent Teacher Interviews will be held as follows:
- Foundation - Grade 2 Tuesday 21st June
- Grade 3/4 Wednesday 22nd June
- Grade 5/6 Thursday 23rd June
Junior AFL Clinic

Last Wednesday the F-2 children enjoyed an AFL Footy Clinic organised through AFL Western District. The children loved the chance to learn new skills and play some games together. They all looked great in their footy colours.

Cross Country Success

The Regional Cross Country was held last Monday and Harry Sinnott, Maddison Mitchell, Madison Lucas and Gus Fryers all represented our school. They all ran very well and now Harry and Gus will progress to the Victorian cross country in Melbourne next term. Congratulations boys.
Catholic School Culture

Friday Liturgy
On Friday all middle students will attend a liturgy at St. Patrick’s Church at 9:30am. This will be their first mass visit to the church for the term and a lovely way to come together.

Mini Vinnies
On Friday, the Mini Vinnies volunteers will have visitors from the St. Vincent de Paul Centre in Camperdown, who will share their insights on volunteering and helping people. They will also discuss the Winter Appeal and explain how these much needed donations will be used and distributed. Thank-you to all families who have washed and sent in items for the Mini Vinnies volunteers to collect for the Winter Appeal. These collections will still continue throughout this term, so please feel welcome to send in washed winter items such as blankets, sleeping bags, coats etc. It will go a long way to assisting people to keep warm this winter. Thank-you.

First Holy Eucharist
Thank you to all families who have returned their note regarding First Holy Eucharist, so now administration tasks can be completed for these sacraments on Saturday 16th of July at 6:30pm in Cobden or Sunday 17th of July at 11am in Camperdown. School preparations will begin on Friday and a home preparation pack will come home this week.

Student Free Day and Staff P.D.
There will be a Student Free Day on the last day of term, Friday 24th of June. Staff will be involved in a Professional Development Day on the Catholic Education topic of Scripture. This day will be presented by Liz Dowling, a highly regarded academic teacher in this subject.
MERCY REGIONAL COLLEGE - 2023 ENROLMENTS
