From the Principal
Hello to all,
Welcome to week 9. Only 3 weeks to go as we head to the end of the year!
Last week we had Foundation 2022 interviews, continuation of our I CAN Imagination Club and OT student sessions. This week we are finalising classlists for 2022. These will be sent home on next week's newsletter with 2022 staffing. In preparing class lists a lot time and consideration has been given to student needs and what is in their best interests. So please be mindful of this when sharing and discussing these with your child/ren.
There is now a tile on the SZ app for camps and excursions, all letters and communications will be accessible for this tile.
Things to remember for this week:
- I Can Imagination Club session Tuesday
- Foundation Excursion Port Campbell
- School Leadership Interviews
- The Last day of Canteen will be Monday 13th December.
- Please note the F - 2 swimming program will not run this year due to the inability of the swim school to staff the program.
Take care,
Annie

Assembly will be posted to social media on Friday.
Staffing News
Mrs Leah Sinnott has decided to take 12 months leave and accept a position teaching disenfranchised and disengaged youth at St. Joseph's Flexible Learning Centre in Colac. This is something that she has always been interested in. We will miss Leah but wish her well and every success in her new position next year!
Spelling Championships
On Friday we held the final of the Grade 5/6 Spelling Championship finals. This has been a long drawn out process due to this years lockdowns and restrictions and we commend the fifteen grand finalists on sticking with process. All of these students spent time studying the word list which was filled with some very tricky words.
The grand final took place with rounds this year, and after completion of these rounds our winners were Lizzie Dennis and Lucas Mason.
Congratulations to Chloe Anderson, Meg Lafferty, Matea McKenzie, Ava Cunningham, Fred Dean, Ava Bonner, Paddy Hassett, Kayla Loving, Victoria Buckle, Sasha Kerr, George Sadler, Isabella Wain, and Charlotte Hinds for making the final. We hope they enjoyed the celebrations afterwards.

Catholic School Culture

Catholic School Culture
Advent
Advent began yesterday which is the beginning of a new liturgical year where we have entered into the Year of Luke (Year C). During the 4 weeks of Advent, we prepare for the celebration of Christ’s birth through prayer and reflection. We contemplate the First Coming of Jesus as Saviour and anticipate his promised Second Coming. Amid the flurry of Christmas preparations, let us look for practical ways to observe the holiness of the season in our everyday lives. This week we light the first purple advent candle which symbolizes Hope and we anticipate the coming of Jesus.
Mission Boxes
We are in the final weeks of collection for the Missions which will be donated to Caritas Australia to help ease poverty and injustice. If you have any loose change that you would like to donate, please send it into school or alternatively you may wish to make a donation through the Caritas website https://www.caritas.org.au/ Many thanks for giving to those in need.
