Parent Communication
Parent Communication regarding students during School Hours
Parents are reminded that the protocol for communicating with the school should come through the main office to Deb and Bec. This is a matter of staff and student safety so that student movements, such as when leaving the school, can be recorded and monitored from the office.
Play dates are to be made out of school hours and not through the front office please.
The Office can be contacted from 8.30am - 4.30pm on 03 55931962.

Gr 5/6 Sovereign Hill excursion
On Friday the 19th of November the Grade 5/6 students went to Sovereign Hill in Ballarat. We arrived to have a snack by the pond and then we split up into our class groups. Our class went to the Education Centre to learn a bit about the history of Sovereign Hill and what it would have been like to go to school in the 1850's. We got to guess what some old fashioned objects were used for and we also had a go at writing with an ink calligraphy pen. After that we went panning for gold. Some of us were lucky enough to find a few specks! One of the highlights of the day was the Red Hill Mine. It was 52 steps down into the dark mine underground and then 53 steps to climb back out. We were then allowed to go buy what we wanted from the old-fashioned shops. People bought walking canes from the Waterloo Store, raspberry drops from the lolly shop and horseshoes with their names stamped on them from the Blacksmith. Finally, we watched the gold pour and learnt that a gold bar worth $250,000 is actually not very big. It is about the size of a sunglasses case!

Smiling Mind Digital Care Packs
Smiling Mind Digital Care Packs: to support kids through COVID-19 and beyond
Smiling Mind have released Digital Care Packs which provide tips and guidance on how to build positive mental health in children, and offer a range of simple, evidence-based activities that can be used with children aged five to 12 years to provide immediate relief against worry and anxiety, or used to support a proactive positive mental health approach.
Each pack explores related topics and contains downloadable activities for children in the following age groups: 5-7 year old, 8-10 years old and 11-12 year old. To access the packs click on this link to complete a short form.
St. Patrick’s Colouring Competition

Over the coming weeks children will be completing the annual St. Patrick’s Colouring Competition which was won by Chloe Anderson last year. The winner will have their piece framed and displayed in the administration area of the school for 1 year. Children are encouraged to display their neatest colouring and to take care with their presentation. We wonder who will be our winner this year?
