Parent Communication regarding students during School Hours
Parents are reminded that the protocol for communicating with the school should come through the main office to Deb and Bec. This is a matter of staff and student safety so that student movements, such as when leaving the school, can be recorded and monitored from the office.
During school teaching hours staff will not reply to:
- Phone calls on their private mobile numbers
- Text messages to their private mobile numbers
- Notifications throught class Dojo or other platforms
The Office can be contacted from 8.30am - 4.30pm on 03 55931962.

Arts Night–St. Pat’s Virtual Art Exhibition

Wednesday night is our bi-ennial Arts Night which has been modified to comply with restrictions and will now be online. The children’s visual art samples will form part of the online gallery at the St. Pat’s Virtual Art Exhibition which can be viewed online through Kunstmatrix. It shows an augmented reality gallery where you can navigate through rooms and zoom in and out. This gallery will be open from Wednesday evening and we are sure that families will enjoy viewing artworks from St. Pat’s students. In the gallery there are 6 different rooms that can be entered by the Links that will be emailed to you on Wednesday.
These links will also be on Google Classrooms for ease of access. The links can be shared with friends and family so the wider community can enjoy our students artwork. Children will bring home their individual art pieces to show their families which will coincide with this night.
Sharna and Tracy are very proud of the children for developing their confidence and creativity with their artwork and we are sure that children will also receive lots of positive feedback from their families. Many thanks to Jarrod for his ideas and assistance with the online program. We hope you enjoy viewing the St. Pat’s Virtual Art Exhibition from the comfort of your homes.

School Advisory Council vacancy
The School Advisory Council provides a forum for discussion and discernment, where the
parent/guardian voice and perspective are available to inform and support the decisions made by
the principal and parish priest for the good of school and parish where the wellbeing and outcomes
for students is paramount.
It is important that School Advisory Council members understand that their primary role is to
provide support and advice on important school matters to support the principal in the context of
the DOBCEL governance arrangements. School Advisory Councils do not have a legal identity and do not become involved in the day-to-day management of the school. The School Advisory Council must act within the parameters of these Terms of Reference.
We have one School Advisory Council position that will become vacant at the end of the year. If you would like to join our school council, please complete the form below.

Catholic School Culture

"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them."
Remembrance Day
Thursday November 11th is Remembrance Day which marks the end of World War 1 over 100 years ago. We remember and pray for those who have died in wars and conflicts since then and we are thankful for their incredible service and sacrifice. We know that in our world today life can be difficult and there are still conflicts, but we can commit to creating peace in our own world – our families, classrooms, schools and communities. The school captains and vice captains will carry out the Remembrance Day Service this year and students will view this service on their classroom screens within their bubble. Poppies are being sold by the grade 6 children so please send in $3-5 if your child wishes to make a purchase.
We are grateful for those who have given their lives in times of war and conflict and for those who fight to keep us safe from harm in our world today. Lest we forget.
Covid Safe School Procedures
Covid Safe School Procedures
Staff and grades 3 to 6 students to wear face masks when indoors on school premises, unless an exception applies.
- Masks are required for Grades 3-12 students on the bus.
- The schoolzine app, WEB page & emails are our main form of communication. If you haven't been receiving any emails or texts, please contact the school to double check your email address and phone number.
- Visitors are welcome back to the school in line with vaccination requirements.
- School excursions and camps can resume.
- Please keep children home if they are not well.
- Extra ventilation in classrooms by windows and doors being left open. Spending time outdoors more throughout the day.
- Please ensure your child brings their own drink bottle to school. Bubble taps have been turned off however taps for refilling are available.
eSAFETY
With lockdowns and restrictions many children are spending more time online and watching streamed television shows and movies. It’s more important than ever to have conversations with your child about what they are watching online and the games and apps they are using, particularly if you become aware of something new and popular. Have you heard of ‘Squid Game’? Shows such as ‘Squid Game’ are intended for older audiences and contain scenes with strong themes and violence not suitable for younger people. Being exposed to this kind of content both directly through the streaming service - and indirectly through social media apps, games and pop-ups - can be distressing for children and young people.
School Wide Positive Behaviours Systems (SWPBS)
This week we will be looking to use equipment appropriately. This means bringing play equipment back inside after the bell goes. It also means using all equipment how it is supppsed to be used both inside and out and at home and at school.
Many thanks to everyone for all your help.
