From the Principal
Hello to everyone,
Welcome to week 24,
Everyone is still settling back in and this week will hopefully give everyone the extra opportunity to get back into the school routine.
We still have a number of restrictions on us and I ask for people's patience, especially with finalising of dates etc.
This week we have a Parents Association meeting tomorrow night. This will be online and a link sent out today. Everyone is welcome to be a part of this.
Enjoy the week ahead,
Mick
Prayer Reflection

Assembly

We are trialling something different for the next few weeks.
The school has bought a GoPro to produce a higher quality stream, however it can't be live streamed. We will therefore run assembly, video it, edit it a little and then send out for parents to see.
This edit will hopefully be out by early afternoon on Friday.
Remote Learning 5.0
Although we are back at school we still have a range of restrictions we need to abide by until further notice:
No non-essential people into the school
No whole school assemblies, staff meetings, P.D
No Kinder transition visits
No sharing of homemade food from home eg birthday cakes etc
Keep children home if they are sick
Keep hygiene routines going please
Please adhere to pick up rules of a quick pick up before moving straight off
As soon as any changes are made we will let you know.
Computer Booking for COVID lockdowns
Parents Association Meeting
Tomorrow night we have a Parents Association meeting via an online Google Meet.
This will be online from 7.30 and everyone is most welcome to attend from home.
As well as the usual general business for this time of year eg: Grade 6 Trivia Night, I am interested in feedback from Remote Learning 5.0 as well as thoughts on Father's Day.
A link will come home today via email.
Kinder Visit & Enrolments
Our Kinder visits had to be postponed until Thursday August 12th from 9.30-11.00. They will be working with Mr K doing PE, Sharna doing art & Paula A doing science.
A reminder that enrolments were due in by the end of July, so if you haven't attended to this can I ask that you please do so asap.
Camperdown Kinder Enrolments open
Enrolments for 2022 are now open for the Camperdown Kindergarten, please contact the kinder on 55931936 for further information.
Winter Sport
We have a potential date for our next winter sport games; Football, Netball & Mixed netball. Thursday 12th of August in Warrnmabool is the date proposed on the proviso that the restrictions stay the same or are eased further.
More info will come home as we receive it.
MRC Canteen going online

A note went home to families last week letting you know you can order & pay online. Hopefully this is a help to families moving forward. The canteen still accepts cash for those who wish to continue to do this.
This is now live and working. Orders close @9.30 on the morning of ordering.
You can also access the canteen from your school Zine App (SZapp)
Community Meal
Our next community meal session has been postponed until Wednesday September 15th.
Hooptime Basketball

At this stage Hooptime Victoria have given the go ahead to continue Hooptime basketball from next week (restrictions allowing).
This means some changes to the dates & venues initially put out. The new dates & venue for Rookies are:
Friday 13th August: 5/6 Rookies (Held in Camperdown)
Friday 20th August: 5/6 All Stars (Held in Terang)
Friday 27th August: 3/4 All Stars (Held in Terang)
Friday 3rd September: 3/4 Rookies (Held in Camperdown)
More info will come home once we have it to hand.
2022 Intentions
It is also getting to that time of year when we turn an eye towards 2022. If you know that you will not be returning to St Patrick's next year, it is important that we know so we can make more accurate decisions moving forward. I therefore ask that if you are moving on, can you let us know as soon as you can. Similarly, if you know of anyone who would like to attend St Patrick's next year, can you ask them to make contact with me as soon as they can so we can begin any transition processes we need to.
RE Closure Day

There will be no school for children on Monday 16th of August as St Patrick's, St Thomas' & St Colmans are involved in a teacher RE professional development day.
Elizabeth Dowling will be here talking to the staff about Scripture.
CSEF applications
The Camp Sports and Excursion Fund is still available for families to claim, if you have a current health care card please contact the office. This fund pays $125 per child towards the cost of excursions and camps.
Foodbank
Thankyou to everyone who has recently sent in meals for the food bank. We have already sent out most of the meals to families in need and we would be very grateful for anything you can donate to our Food Bank Freezer. Just send into the office with the ingredients & the date made both listed. Thanks in anticipation.
It is certainly something that is appreciated by the families we support with these meals.
School Wide Positive Behaviours Systems (SWPBS)
Our focus for this week is again, Manners
Some of the things we will be targeting: Say excuse me for interruptions, please & thank-you, waiting turns, allowing others to pass, responding appropriately to adult request, greeting people. We will be making up some little videos as buddy classes and get it out to the other teachers for them to show the behaviour we are looking for.
Parents can support us by ensuring these manners are also used at home.
A video made by some of the children here at school will be posted so parents can see some of the things we are aiming for.
Grade 6 Trivia Night

The annual grade 6 trivia night has been set for Friday 27th of August, 6.30pm (for a 7.00 start)-9.30pm. This night traditionally has families booking teams to vie for the title of Trivia kings & queens of St Patrick's for the next 12 months.
Teams of up to 8 or so can be booked by filling out the form below, if you have any queries please phone Deb or Bec at the office.
The night consists of 6 rounds of questions with some entertaining games in between.
Teams bring along their own drinks & nibbles and it costs $10 per person to enter.
More information as we get closer to the night.
This has always been one of the best social nights the school runs for the year and is full of fun, laughs and quality time spent with family & friends.
All money raised goes towards assisting the grade 6 camp fund and is designed to subsidise $200 per child towards the camp. It is a truly worthy cause.
Please consider booking a spot at this event. At this stage we have 3 tables booked in for the night.

At this stage, we have still hope that Saturday August 14th in Cobden @6.30pm & Sunday August 15th in Camperdown @11.00am will be our Eucharist celebrations. Obviously it will all depend on the restrictions that will be in place. Fingers crossed wew ill be able to complete this important sacrament.
Please keep the following children in your thoughts and prayers as they continue to prepare for these days.
Charlie Bourke, Jimmy Cheeseman, Daisy Courtney, Isaac Lawlor, Chase Lee, Grace Magilton, Riley Spence, Halle Barake, Taylor Cameron, Orson Capizzi, Hannah Cridland, Maddison Fisher, Lachlan Hewitt, Jayden Kleinhenz, Ava Lafferty, Jake Lenssen, Madison Lucas, Zoe Roberts, William Ryan, Scarlett Simmonds & Olive Wills.
Foundation Grandparents Mass: Friday 30th July
Our grandparents mass was a great occasion last Friday at the church. We had a good representation from grandparents- many thanks for coming and abiding by all the current restrictions.
It was great to be able to complete this during our Covid times.
Below is Fr Neville's homily which I thought was very well written.

Ritchies Community Benefit
Another reminder to please consider nominating St Patrick's as your preferred organisation when shopping at IGA. Over the years we have received over $40,000 (around $2000 per year), which goes towards classroom resources. It is easy to join either using a phone and downloading the Ritchies Card App from the App store or Google Play, or by going online to www.ritchies.com.au/loyalty using a tablet or desk top computer. You can then pick up a physical card available from the friendly cashiers in-store, which you then link to your app or online account. Once you have set up your account you can then nominate our organisation.
