From the Principal

Wonder and Awe is a gift of the Holy Spirit that I hold close to my heart. It allows us to truly see the beauty, mystery, and majesty of God in the world around us. This gift helps us pause, reflect, and appreciate the divine presence in everyday moments.
Recently, I was filled with a sense of wonder as I noticed the first signs of new growth—tiny buds preparing to burst into life, even as they face the force of our strong South West winds. This change in season brings longer days, warmer weather, and fast-growing grass. It also serves as a reminder of how quickly the year is passing.
In my recent annual review meetings with staff, a common joy shared was seeing the growth, development, and learning of students. Just like the natural world around us, our students are beginning to blossom, and it is truly a blessing to witness this transformation.
We look forward to welcoming our dads, or special people who play the role of fathers in the lives of our students, with guest speaker Tony Dalton and a cuppa on Friday. Our classrooms are looking forward to welcoming your visit.
Have a great week everyone.
To the shepherds in our lives.
As a community, we share in the deep sadness brought by recent tragedies—the deaths of two Victoria Police officers in the line of duty, the heartbreaking loss of a Geelong schoolgirl in a bus crash, and the ongoing global conflicts causing immense suffering, displacement, and despair. In the Catholic faith, the image of the shepherd reminds us that every life matters. No one is forgotten, and each person deserves care, compassion, and support—especially in times of darkness.
Paul Kelly’s song Meet Me in the Middle of the Air, inspired by Psalm 23, echoes this message of divine presence and comfort. In the line “fear not death’s dark shadow,” we are reminded that God walks with us through grief and loss. The words “every soul shall be restored” bring hope of healing, and “meet me in the middle of the air” reassures us that God meets us where we are—with peace, love, and unwavering care.
As you listen to the Psalm below, let us all hold in prayer the people of Victoria and across the world who hope for healing and peace and let us also call to mind the shepherds in our lives who are called to lead with compassion, care and courage. May we meet them in the middle of the air!
