From the Principal

Student reports have been released to families. These reports are released online only. Please take some time to celebrate the wonderful growth and achievements of your child represented in these reports. Parents, carers and students will have the opportunity to discuss these reports at our Parent Teacher Interviews early in term Three.

Information within this newsletter will assist on how to access your child's online report via our Parent Access Module (“PAM”), share important changes to numeracy reporting and why it looks different to our previous reports and provide a reminder for Parent Teacher Interview bookings that will open this Friday, 4th July.

Please remember we are finishing the term on Thursday at normal time as Friday will be a closure day for staff to continue our ReLATE Training.

I will see you at the Family Movie Night on Wednesday July 9th at the Warrnambool Capitol Cinema.

I hope that everyone has a safe and enjoyable holiday and that you get to spend it doing something that you love with those who mean the most to you. Have a restful and relaxing break everyone.

LEARNING AND TEACHING

Dear Parents and Carers,

We would like to inform you that Semester One student reports can now be accessed online via our Parent Access Module (“PAM”). If you require further assistance accessing the reports please contact our office on 5593 1962.

These reports provide an overview of your child’s learning progress, effort, and achievements across the first half of the school year. In some cases, the report is the result of a team effort. Where classroom teachers are currently on leave, they have provided input wherever possible. In addition, replacement teachers and leadership staff who have worked closely with the students have contributed to ensure the report reflects a well-rounded and accurate picture of each child's progress.

We appreciate your understanding and support in recognising the collaborative nature of these reports.

Below is information published in our newsletter about important changes to numeracy reporting and why it looks different to our previous reports.

Looking ahead, Parent Teacher Interview bookings will open this Friday, 4th July. Interviews will be held across two afternoons in Week 2 of Term 3 - Monday 28th July and Tuesday 29th July. These meetings provide a valuable opportunity to discuss your child’s progress in more detail. Please arrange an alternative time with your teacher if these afternoons do not suit.

2B and 5/6B interviews will be held at another time due to staff leave. These dates will be communicated directly to those families.

If you have any concerns about a report that you would like to discuss prior to the interviews please contact Darren on 5593 1962. Thank you for your continued partnership in your child’s learning journey.

Warm regards,

Leadership Team.

Important Changes to Numeracy Reporting

Victorian Curriculum F–10 Version 2.0 Curriculum Updates 2025

The Victorian Curriculum F–10 Version 2.0 gives Victoria's students the best opportunity to thrive in a world of increasing change and rapid technological advancement. It reflects the expertise and feedback of Victorian teachers, making it easier for them to plan, assess and report on student learning.

The overarching structure of the Victorian Curriculum F–10 Version 2.0 has not changed from Victorian Curriculum F–10 Version 1.0. The names and purpose of the learning areas, capabilities and cross-curriculum priorities remain the same. This recognises the continuing importance of a discipline-based approach to learning, where learning areas are regarded as both enduring and dynamic, supported by clearly articulated capabilities and cross-curriculum perspectives. When teachers report on your child’s progress, you will see some revisions to the reporting interface for some subjects.

Benefits for students

  • Access to the essential knowledge and skills to be successful lifelong learners
  • A better learning transition from the early years to primary school
  • The necessary knowledge and skills to follow chosen senior secondary pathways
  • A streamlined curriculum and higher-quality teaching and learning provisions

Reporting

What you see as a parent on your child’s report for most subjects, cross-curriculum priorities and capabilities will remain unchanged from previous years.

For Mathematics, a significant change in the interface that you will see as a parent will occur.

Previously the teacher reported against the 3 strands of the achievement standard for Mathematics.

  • Number and Algebra
  • Measurement and Geometry, and
  • Statistics and Probability

Under the Mathematics curriculum 2.0, your child’s teacher will report against the achievement standard, providing a single, aggregated score. There will be no mark from previous reports for Mathematics as this will be the first time it is reported this way.

The VCAA made these changes to:

  • Help teachers plan their teaching and learning programs in mathematics, giving them more flexibility to support students to link ideas within mathematics and with other curriculum areas.
  • Give parents a genuine comparison of their child’s progress in Mathematics from semester to semester.

The pictures below show how our Mathematics reports were previously presented and what you can expect for Semester 1 in 2025.

Girls Basketball Clinic

CALLING ALL JUNIOR GIRLS!!!!

We’re excited to share that CAMPERDOWN BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION will be hosting a Girls-Only Basketball Holiday Camp in Camperdown with Wolfpack Hoops.

Featuring none other than WNBL superstar Abbey Wehrung!

This is a rare opportunity for young female athletes to grow their skills, learn from a professional, and be inspired by one of the best in the game.

The camp will take place on Sunday, 6th July in Camperdown ARVO TIMES only (venue details are in the attached flyer). It’s open to girls of all skill levels who are eager to build confidence, learn new skills, and have fun in a supportive environment. Please book using trybooking as there are limited spaces.

https://www.trybooking.com/DBMWC

Session Times:

  • 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM (Ages 5–9)
  • 3:30 PM – 4:30 PM (Ages 10 and up)

Abbey is one of Australia’s elite basketball talents, having played for WNBL powerhouses like the Canberra Capitals, Bendigo Spirit, and Adelaide Lightning. A former Australian Opal, she’s known for her precision shooting and on-court leadership. Abbey has proudly represented Australia on the international stage, helping secure a bronze medal at the FIBA Women’s Asia Cup and gold with the Emerging Opals.

Off the court, Abbey’s impact is just as inspiring. After losing her mum to breast cancer, she rode 260km on horseback across regional Victoria to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research — a true reflection of her strength, passion, and heart.

At Wolfpack Hoops, we’re passionate about growing the game and ensuring that girls in regional areas have access to world-class coaching and opportunities. This camp is all about building confidence, community, and a love for basketball.
