From the Principal
Hello to everyone,
Welcome to week 17 and remote learning 4.0!
I hope that everyone has been able to get on and get into work set for today. If not please call the school if you need some help. I also hope that this will only be for a short period of time, but if the last 18 months has taught me anything, it's that things can change very quickly.
As soon as any new information from the Catholic Education Commission of Victoria (CECV) comes our way I will be in touch to let you know.
In the meantime enjoy the time spent with your family and learning from home. We have successfully navigated this path before and I am sure that we will do the same this time around.
Stay safe,
Mick

Remote Learning Update
Thanks to everyone for the smooth way in which you helped everthing to be organised for this week. Thanks to parents for their quick responses and thanks to the staff who were ready to go with a remote learning program.
- We have a number of children onsite for this week. Please call the school if anything changes for you.
- We have more computers set up if any are required for home use. Please let the school know so we can put them aside.
- During remote learning we only a have school pick up for those onsite from the school not the church.
- Can parents please ring the school before coming in.
- The school week this week will consist of 4 days learning from home doing the remote learning program and hopefully to school on Friday. If anything changes we will let you know.
- If this lockdown continues for a longer period we will probably revert back to Wednesday being the specialist day so as to give everyone a mid week break from computers and allow staff to plan. Again I will keep you informed as we know more.
Online Assembly time
We will revert back to our usual Friday timeslot of 10.45 from this Friday 4th June for our online assembly.
2022 Enrolments Open Day
Our open day was a great success last week and we had many families through for a look during the day. For those who may have missed this day and would still like a tour, you can call the school anytime to arrange a suitable time.
Enrolment Packages for our current families and for those who couldn't make it for a tour, will go to the kinder this week to go home with the children there.
Regional Cross Country

Congratulations to the Piper Stephens, Isaac Lawlor & Maddison Mitchell who have made it through to the next level, The Greater Western Regional Cross Country champinships in Warrambool on Friday 11 June.
Catholic Education Week
What going to be a successful week petered out with us not being able to complete our Network day last Friday. This event has not been cancelled and once we are back to normal schooling we will set another date for our Network Day.
Apart from that, it was a great opportunity to celebrate 200 years of Catholic schooling in Australia. Many thanks to everyone who passed on their best wishes for last week.
Catholic School Culture
First Holy Eucharist:
Sacrament of First Holy Eucharist
At this stage, we will still plan on the Sacraments of First Holy Eucharist going ahead on the
weekend until we receive further notice on restrictions. If this needs to be altered due to
further announcements, we will notify parents. Fr. Kevin Maloney will preside over these
ceremonies. Please keep the following children in your prayers as they continue with their
preparations at home for the following dates;
Saturday 5th of June in Cobden at 6:30pm: Charlie Bourke, Jimmy Cheeseman, Daisy
Courtney, Isaac Lawlor, Chase Lee, Grace Magilton & Riley Spence.
Sunday 6th of June in Camperdown at 11am: Halle Barake, Taylor Cameron, Orson Capizzi,
Hannah Cridland, Maddison Fisher, Lachlan Hewitt, Jayden Kleinhenz, Ava Lafferty, Jake
Lenssen, Madison Lucas, Zoe Roberts, William Ryan, Scarlett Simmonds & Olive Wills.
Families will need to arrive 10 minutes early in order to sign in and be seated for the mass to begin on time - thank you.
Mini Vinnies: Thank-you to families who have sent in donations for the Mini Vinnies Winter Appeal and the Food Drive – your kindness is very much appreciated and the donated items will provide much needed support – thank-you!! The Mini Vinnies children are doing a wonderful job with these collections and will still be collecting until the end of term.
Reports & Learning Conversations
School reports will go home on Friday 18th of June and Learning Conversations will be the following week.
We will once again break our Learning Conversations into year level groups over the course of the week:
Monday: Foundation Learning Conversations
Tuesday: Grade 5/6 Learning Conversations
Wednesday: Grade 3/4 Learning Conversations
Thursday: Grade 1/2 Learning Conversations
Bookings for these Learning Conversations are not open yet but we hope to have them open by next week.
Queens birthday holiday
There is no school on Monday June 14th due to the Queens birthday holiday.
School Term 2 Disco
Our school disco for this term is set for Friday 18th of June and will go from 6.00-7.30.
Cost will be $5 entry and there will be snacks for sale on the night. All money raised will go towards the grade 6 camp fund.
Robbie Burns Festival
The Robert Burns Festival in Camperdown will be held on the weekend of the 2nd, 3rd and 4th of
July during the school holidays. As part of the lead up to this community event, some interested
children at school will have the opportunity to learn an Indigenous song and dance with
Brett Clark on Wednesday afternoons. There will be two opportunities for children to
perform at the festival when they attend with their families.
- Saturday the 3rd of July: Free Family Night Concert
- Sunday the 4th of July: FESTIVAL FINALE CONCERT from around 1pm onwards.
Brett is doing a Welcome to Country and performing the 2 songs with the children on
stage. Children will be required to wear black pants or jeans with either a red, yellow
