Week 2 Prayer- Missions Month

Generous God, we come today to pray for the many people who work for mission around the world and all who support their efforts.  May we open our hearts and respond to your call to bring the Good News to all people.  By listening to your Word may we understand more clearly the gift of sharing we are called to be to one another.

May the mission of Jesus be our constant hope. May the Lord help us to reach out with love. May he grant us the strength to proclaim his Good News. Let us act in peace to love and serve God and one another.

From the Principal

Greetings everyone and welcome to a new week.

End of Year Arrangements: As part of the 2022 CEMEA schools are now required to award Time in Lieu for staff who perform various functions outside of their designated working hours, this would include events such as camps, excursions, meetings etc. In a bid to alleviate the costs associated with this, DOBCEL as our governing authority, has instructed schools to close 1 day earlier at the end of this year to help acquit Time in Lieu debts to staff.

Therefore, students will conclude the 2024 school year on Wednesday December 18th with staff concluding on Thursday December 19th. Theircare will be available on Thursday the 19th & Friday the 20th of December for bookings.

Sympathies: As a community we pass on our sympathies to Fran Bateman following the passing of her father Michael. Our love and prayers are with Fran and her family as they mourn his loss but celebrate his life.

Enjoy the week ahead, Ben.

Community Consultation for New Principal

Dear Families, please find below a letter from DOBCEL regarding the consultation phase prior to the panel meeting to appoint a new principal. The link to complete the survey is in the letter below and also attached here.

Administration of Medication

Our governing body DOBCEL has advised that we are no longer able to administer non-prescribed medication at school.

If your child requires medication during school hours, we will need to ring you to either take your child home or come into school to administer the medication yourself.

School and CEB staff are not permitted to store or administer any non-prescribed medications including analgesics (paracetamol and aspirin). This is because analgesics and other non-prescribed medications can mask signs and symptoms of a serious illness or injury.

School Closure Day

Our final closure day is on Monday the 4th of November, which is the day before the Melbourne Cup public holiday. Please ensure that this day is in your calendar.

TheirCare will be offering all day care on this day for families experiencing difficulty finding carers for their children.

Intentions for 2025

It is that time of year where we are planning for the 2025 school year.

If you know that your circumstances are changing, and your children will not be attending St Patrick's next year it would be appreciated if you could please email principal@spcamperdown.catholic.edu.au so that this can be factored into our 2025 planning.

School Hats

As the weather is warming up it is important that you send your child's hat into school. Don't forget to name it!

The children are not allowed outside without their hat this term.

Share this:

Food Bank

We are asking our school community to provide meals for our Food Bank.

If you are able, it would be much appreciated if you could send some meals into school for the freezer.

This will help our families that are in need at this point in time.
