Our Prayer

From the Assistants to the Principal
We welcome everyone to Week 2. Mr Bourke is currently away on Long Service Leave enjoying some sunshine. If anyone requires assistance this week please do not hesitate to call the office to speak with Annie, Jess or Mel.
Week 1 saw a busy start to the Term. Please continue to check the calendar as Term 4 is packed with events for students and staff.
LEARNING AND TEACHING
School Visits
This week staff from St. John's Dennington and St. Patrick's Port Fairy will be visiting to view our Literacy Teaching and Programs. They are beginning their journey of implementing Structured Literacy practices and have heard such great things about our school that they have asked to visit and view our staff and students in action.

REGIONAL ATHLETICS
We had nine students attend the Regional Athletic sports in a sunny, but cold Ballarat on Friday. Although we didn't quite get in the medals there were some pleasing efforts all round. Congratulations and well done on your efforts.
Students who competed on Friday included: Olive Wills - 800m & relay, Isaac Lawlor - hurdles, Edie Molan - hurdles, Stella Hinds hurdles & high jump; Elaine Ryan - hurdles & 100m, Courtney Blain - 200m & relay, Harry Sinnott - triple jump, Daisy Bennett - triple jump & relay, and Maddi Fisher - relay.

LEADERSHIP AND STEWARDSHIP
Pupil Free Day 6th Nov
A reminder that our staff have an RE Professional Development day on Monday November 6th, no children will attend that day. Enjoy the extra long weekend!
School fees
Just a reminder that we are three quarters of the way through the year!! Our governing body is looking at our fee collection and will be asking questions about any fees that haven't either been paid, have a payment plan or signed paperwork, very soon. It is a requirement by DOBCEL that all school fees are paid by the end of the year. If you haven't set up a payment plan yet or signed paperwork stating how you intend to pay, please contact the office ASAP.
If you need any assistance or have any questions please contact Tim or Debbie, thank you.
Known Dates for Term 4

Building Program

We have finally completed all of the requirements for our building program for our new Senior School wing and tenders for the job were sent out to six building companies during the school holidays. These will now submit a quote for the job and once the contract is awarded, we will hopefully have action on the site at some stage in the second half of this term.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
Community Meal Roster

This Wednesday, the 11th October, is our scheduled roster date for the Uniting Church Community Meal. This week Grade 5/6 Cook will be catering and working at the Uniting Church.
Students in Grade 5/6 Cook will have already received information regarding this date, and are looking forward to taking their turn on the volunteer roster.
Trivia Night

Our annual Trivia night is to be held on Friday the 10th November. Please save the date.
Start getting your teams organised for a fun night!
New Learning Space
We have used a grant opportunity to transform an untidy area of the school into an area to support our environmental learning. This area will be used as an outdoor classroom area and a quiet space for children during break times. The children are now sharing ideas to make this a great space for learning.
