Our Prayer

From the Principal

Dear parents, carers and community members,
We have made it to the last week of term 2 and both students and staff are looking forward to a two week break. Just a reminder that school finishes at 2:15pm on Friday. School will recommence on Monday 10th of July as we begin Term 3. Teachers have been working very hard over the last few weeks to complete individual student reports that will be released on the last day of the term. Our parent/teacher interviews will be in week one of next term and the timetable for these have been released.
Parent Teacher Interviews
Our Parent Teacher interviews will take place in Week 1 of Term 3.
The interviews are now open on PAM for you to log in to choose a suitable time to meet with your child's teacher.
All Grade 5/6 class interviews are to be held on Tuesday the 11th July from 11.00am till 3.00pm and Wednesday the 12th July from 3.30pm till 4.30pm.
Foundation DF & SB, Grades 1 M & 1WF & Grade 2 DS class interviews are to be held on Wednesday the 12th July from 11.00am till 3.00pm and 3.30pm till 4.30pm.
All Grade 3/4 classes & Grade 2B class interviews are to be held on Thursday the 13th July from 11.00am till 3.00pm and Wednesday the 12th of July from 3.30pm till 4.30pm.
Please log onto your PAM account to book a suitable interview time with your child's classroom teacher. Please note that if your child has more than one teacher, the teacher that is in the classroom on that certain day will be the only teacher available to book your interview with.
Grade 3/4 Wellbeing Day

Our three Grade 3/4 classes will begin term 3 with a wellbeing day on Monday 10th of July.
They will take part in three sessions:
Session One: Goal Setting
This will focus on setting individual and class goals for semester two. This will be held at school with the classroom teacher.
Session Two: Tania Rowan- Vanguard Coaching
Tania is a certified Personal Development Coach who helps young people overcome challenges and create change in their life. She has previously led a whole staff workshop focusing on strategies to use to help children with time management, executive functioning and organisational skills. Children will need to bring a stuffed toy or pillow for this session.
Session Three: Infinity Health Session
Nick Hose and the team at Infinity Health will lead the students through a fun and active workout, teaching them some great health and fitness tips along the way.
Students will need to wear their sports uniform and bring lunch, snacks and water for the day (no lunch orders please). This is a fantastic opportunity for our students to learn life skills that will help them every day.
Foodbank Donations
We are asking for donations of food for our Foodbank.
If you are able to cook something for the freezer that can go out to our families in need, please bring it into school at any time that suits.
Thank you.
Regional Winter Sports
Our mixed netball team played very well at the Regional winter sports in Colac last Friday and won the day. This means they will now go on to Melbourne for the State titles later in the year.

Mini Vinnies
Andrew O’Flynn and Rob Larkin from St. Vincent de Paul met with our Mini Vinnies team last Thursday. He visited to thank the children for playing a part in the Mini Vinnies Winter Appeal. He collected a large number of bags of blankets, towels, jackets, jumpers and coats from the generous families of St. Patrick’s School.

A thought on ‘Do this in memory of me.’
Please keep our First Communicants in your prayers as they prepare for their First Communion on the 15th & 16th of July. At the last supper Jesus said; ‘Do this in memory of me,’ in this way we retain a direct link to Jesus’ inauguration of the Mass. So many of our own actions and practices we do in memory of those who have gone before us but remain important in our lives. Traditions and celebrations are passed down from families, we may use crockery that belonged to a grandparent, in these ways we keep their memories alive just like in the Mass we keep the memory of Jesus alive and present in our daily living.
Kind regards, Mr. S. 😃
School Advisory Council

Our next School Advisory Council met last Tuesday and, along with other issues, unpacked the results of the uniform survey. We had 78 adults and 123 students complete the survey and the data gathered was very informative. The next step is to draft up some possible options for our new uniform and then put these back out to parents for further consultation.
Our SAC work very hard for the school and are a valuable means of communicating important issues to our leadership team. Our advisory council is made up of Fiona Dean, (Chair), Lydia Darcy (Sec), Nicole Foster, Nina Pasque, Xan Colman, Sam Fox, Hollie Theodore, Fr Neville Stanislaus. If you wish to raise an issue, please contact one of these parents.
