Prayer

From the Principal
Dear parents, carers and community members,
It is great to be back at school after two weeks away on leave to find that the school has been very well cared for by our leadership team and school staff. I am very grateful for their support.
Our Grade 5/6 students and staff hosted our mass yesterday at St Patrick's church and did a wonderful job leading the community in prayer. Fr Neville gave praise to the students for their fabulous reading on the day.
There are just two weeks of term left and we will finish up next Thursday 6th of April at 2:15pm.

Halogen Young Leaders Day

Today our school captains and vice captains are attending the Halogen Young Leaders Day at the Melbourne convention and exhibition centre. They will listen to speakers such as Robert DiPierdomenico, Nazeem Hussain, Candy Hertz, Amanda Johnstone and DJ Raf. Thank you to Tom and Marie for taking our student leaders to this valuable opportunity.

SAC Meeting

Our next SAC meeting will be held tomorrow evening at 7pm in the staffroom.
School Athletics Carnival

We will be holding our school athletics carnival this Wednesday the 29th of March at the Camperdown Aths oval.
The parents association are running a BBQ at the sports. For sale will be sausages and hamburgers for $2.00 and water for $1.00.
There will be no chips, lollies etc, so please ensure lunch boxes have enough snacks for the day.
I thought it might be an ideal time to make you aware of a few logistical considerations for the event. Please take time to have a look to familiarise yourself with them.
* All students are to come directly to school as normal. The school attendance roll will be marked
and then they will be bussed to the athletics . Please do not drop your child off at the athletics track for OH&S and roll marking reasons.
* We hope to gather in house colours in the centre of the oval at 9.15 a.m. and at 9.30am the athletic events will start.
* We hope to finish at roughly 1:50pm for presentations and then return to school at 2pm.
* If parents wish to take their child early from school, they can do so from the St Patrick’s front office.
* There will be a coffee van at the venue for parents to utilise from 9:30am onwards.
* There will be a sunscreen station at the track, however, we encourage students to arrive with
sunscreen on and then they can reapply during the day. Students will need to have a labelled
hat.
* It is encouraged that students wear their house colours with pride.
* Students need to stay with their age groups all day so we ask parents not to take them away from the group during the activities.
Everyone is invited to come along and support the children in their races. We hope to
balance a healthy level of competitive events and fun participation for all.
Alpha Shows Performance of Hercules

This Friday the 31st of March Alpha Shows will be here at school to perform their show "Hercules".
The performance will take place at 9.15am in the big room before the whole school. The previous shows we have had from this company have been outstanding and the children are looking forward to the opportunity.
The Week Ahead

'I Can' Imagination Club

The I Can Imagination Club is a program for students who may have learning differences or experience social anxieties or lack of social confidence. The beauty of this program is that it can be used by the school to engage a broad range of students that require some extra social skills assistance and to help build peer connectedness and confidence. For families of students who are enrolled in the program and any other interested parties, there will be an online information session held via zoom on Monday April 3rd, 5.30pm - 6.30pm. Lauren Baudinette from 'I Can' will host the session. If you wish to be involved in this opportunity, please contact the school office.

Fifth Week of Lent
Project Compassion brings together Australian schools, parishes and supporters to raise funds for people in vulnerable communities across the world. This year, we introduced you to the story of four inspiring people whose lives have been transformed with your generous support: Laxmi, Tereesa, Priscilla and Thu.
Today, they are creating a better world for their families, their communities and for all future generations.
Project Compassion is a demonstration of the faith, empathy and generosity of our supporters. It is the lifeblood of Caritas Australia – without it, we could not do the vital work we do. Thank you for helping transform lives today and for all future generations.
